Given a very narrow site with party walls on each side, our intention was to open up the end conditions to allow as much light as possible into the 6 residential units which take up the entire floor front to back. Because the existing building to the west is just a single story we have a large party wall which is visible from the street. As a response we have designed a texture for the wall which uses slightly different colors to break up the large expanse.
