ALEX MELVIN | DESIGNER
Alex brings a unique set of skills to the table, with hands-on fabrication experience and expertise in Building Information Modeling, he loves the challenge of resolving complex conditions and constraints into simple and elegant solutions; always remaining conscious of the contextual fabric, the client’s needs, and the builder’s time. He has international experience working at offices in Boston and Munich, spending his postgraduate years in a multi-firm collaborative office space, working on energy-positive housing, higher-education, and creative-office.
Alex is a Registered Architect in Massachusetts and NCARB Certified. He holds a Master of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, and received both a Bachelor of Design in Architecture and a Bachelor of Science of Construction Management from the University of Florida, spending time studying abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico; Melbourne, Australia; and Berlin, Germany.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time in the woodshop at Handshouse Studio, and doing anything outdoors - hiking, snowboarding, rollerblading, kayaking – with his girlfriend, Amanda, who is also an Architect in Boston.
